...

Today is 5th day after we move in our new house - move in on 22 Dec 2008. I'm so tired as I only sleep about 5 hrs (interuptive sleep) during the night. Mei Mei may wake up at 3 or 4 in the morning to take her milk. And I have so many chores to do, feeding Jie Jie to eat, get her ready to school, pumping milk ...When I live together with my in law, everyday come back from work, my mother in law will help me take care of 2 girls till I finished my dinner and shower. But now, I have to do it myself and only got time to take bath at 10 or 11p.m. I can see the benefit of having elder at home now.

Both girls adapt to the new environment very fast, sleep well and Jie Jie now even can sleep by herself. The only problem is Mei Mei is having rashes all over her body, Ah Mah said may be is caused by the dust/dirt around the area (opposite house is still under renovation) and baby skin is too sensitive to that. Hubby also call up her sister to descript the situation and confirm Mei Mei is ok, no need to bring her to visit doctor. We all afraid is denggi, B'cos Mei Mei had a few bite in the face and neck by mosquitos since we move in the new house.

Another week, my holiday will be end, and start my hectic life again, see how am I going to cope with my job and family, no doubt, is time to be independent.

Teething

Kaitlyn keeps complaining her mouth is pain about 2-3 days. She's even have high fever during the past weekend, eat very less, whenever come to meal time, she'll cried and said pain...
Last night, we bring her to visit dentist (Clinic Yong) to see what's wrong with her teeth as she brush her teeth every night before go to bed, shouldn't be tooth decay. Papa call up to make appointment, but the receptionist said we can walk in around 8p.m, at 7 p.m Kaitlyn cried and ask us to bring her to dentist immediately, this make us so worry, after checking by Dr Lim, we've been told that she's having teething, 2 more molars is growing and that's why she feel so pain. Currently she have 18 teeth only, baby should have 20 baby teeth by age of 3. Dr said not to worry, it takes a few days for her molars to come through her gums and she would be fine!

Happy Momemts

I'm the only daughter at home, I grow up with my 2 brothers, 6 and 4 yrs elder than me. What they play with me is all the boylish activities.. likes playing badminton, catch fish in the river, playing fight fish, collecting cards and mables...

Now I have 2 daughters, and I can see how Jie Jie sayang her Mei Mei, even though sometimes she'll jealous on her also. Having a sister is fun, they can share their dresses, they can play cook cook together and when they grow up, they can share their "secret" hehe... which I never have this experience before. I wish this 2 little girls can grow up together happily.

Bento Tools collection

My bento tools collection, part of it bought from online, some given by friends as a souvenier from their Japan trip... I'm so lucky.

Bee Ean told me that I can get some cutters from "Sa Poh Lang Chang" shop, yes, when I have time, I'll go to have a look, hope can get some cheap and nice stuff!

Stands while holding onto something

Mei Mei is able to stand up when she get the support by holding on the baby cot, but only within a minute, she'll fall down. She've a spirit of never give up, keep trying to stand up again each time she falls. Other than that, she also able to sit up by herself, but still not firm yet, may need pillow support. Stop saying papapa for quite sometimes, but make eerr..ehhh..wawawa..sounds like complaining on something :) After all, I think she's following the milestone.

KL Trip

Last 2 weeks, we have a short trip to KL (29/11 and 30/11) with uncle George family. 1st stop is to IKEA (mama favourite furniture shop)

This is the 2nd year we have been to Traders Hotel, last year we also went there around year end, after papa come back from US trip. I still remember clearly Kaitlyn make a comments that she's very enjoy to stay in the hotel.
We have our dinner at Jogoya, japaneses buffet, and Kaitlyn don't really eat much, but yet still need to paid abt RM10++ because her height is between 80cm till 100cm.

Cut cut cut, everything cut

Hubby and me will have 10% pay cut start from Jan onwards! By looking at current situation, all expenses also have to cut. I'm so stress now especially we are moving to our new house soon, I can't imagine how many bills we have to pay every month!!
Yesterday, while shopping at Giant, I saw a Hello Kitty watch and bought it for Kaitlyn, cost RM12.90. After reach home, hubby open it and only realise it is not working, oh.. my god RM12.90 gone!! I shouldn't spend money this way, and I feel very regret of my spending habits.

First planting experience

This bean sprout was plant by Kaitlyn, it has been growing day by day. Kaitlyn is so happy to monitoring it grow everyday.

Having fun feeding Mei Mei

It has been a week we give Mei Mei baby porridge, during the feeding time, Jie Jie sure will come to kacau, asking me to let her feed. See her seriousness...

Refuse to open mouth

Kait Yee become smarter when come to take medicine. She refuse to open her mouth when papa take the syringe approaching her, even she cry, also with her mouth shut. Ah Mah already surrender, not able to get her drink the cough and runny nose syrup, have to wait for us to feed her. Kaitlyn is much more better, when I told her after you take the medicine, fever will go over, she understand it and co-operate with us since she very small. She likes medicines, no hard time for us. When Mei Mei grow up, hope she can understand too.

Sick Marathon

I can said that Doctor earn a lot of money from my family for this couple of weeks. We all falling sick, fever, runny nose, cough, sore throat, come one after another. After I have recover, the virus spread to 2 daughters and hubby and the virus is like keep circulating in the house. Our dining table is full of medicines...
So pity the small one, hard to breath b'cos of stuffing nose and cough terribly. Also difficult to give her medicine.. so tired, when it going to stop??? I think is time to build up our immune system. We are too weak, easy to attack by viruses!

Start solid

Mei Mei is exactly 6 mths old today. I'm going to introduce solid to her. I bought this organic baby porridge from Cold Storage. It consists of oats and millet, which is very nutrition. I plan to give her once every morning.

Children days

Today Little Kingdom will celebrates Children's Day!
Should be very fun, no uniform, no need to bring school bag, no need study.... just enjoy themselve with candies, balloons, song, games and laughter ... all the childrens love this day, including myself. Teacher ask them to dress up for today and bring along with a party hat, last night, I make a quite nice and I personally think is very creative hat for Kaitlyn, see the pic?


hehe.. it took me about an hour to complete. If today is not month end, then I sure will take leave and go to join the fun... but too bad, I can't!
This morning before come to work, I have ask kakak to dress up Kaitlyn with her favourite dress (looks like princess) and bring along with the party hat that I've make.
Hope my little girl enjoy herself today. :)

Bento Tools

Who introduce bento tools to me?? Yes, is my hubby. The reason is we have a picky eater daughter.
Before knowing about all this cute tools, I will used scissor to cut bread out in various shape to attract Kaitlyn to eat, until hubby told me about bento tools. My first collection is hello kitty pancake pan, sea animals picks and hello kitty bento box which I bought on line. It is expensive and not much choice, and I start ask around for other sellers. Yong Yong (who I know from nursing room) is very helpful, she send a lot of related website to me.
Later on, Su Ee bought an egg mould for me from Japan which only cost 100 yen. Wow.. is so cheap compare to what I see online. So coincidence that Fong Lay is going to travel to Japan for her honeymoon, so I grab this opportunity to ask her buy it for me if she can find it. She'll be back tomorrow, will she buy for me? Haha.. looking forward. I also introduce it to some of my colleauge.. they like it so much too.. I think no one can resists it.

New Shoes

We bought a pair of new shoes to Jie Jie last weekend, because the existing one does not fit anymore. Her favourite colour is green, so she insists to get the green one even though I told her pink one is nicest. After paid, I try to convince her again, saying pink one is better, because can match with her cloths, most of her cloths is pink, and I afraid is hard to match with green, Kaitlyn compromise at last, but she told me that "when I 4 yrs old, you buy green one for me hah" ... ( I feel bad after she saying this, I should let her make decision!)

Escape from jab

Mei Mei suppose to take jab last saturday but she was fever, and we need to postponed the date. However, we still bring her to visit Dr Cheah, b'cos of worrying why she got fever. As per normal, doctor check her weight, lenght and head circumferences. Weight around 5.6kg and I was told that baby put on weight very fast during their 1st 3 mths, and after that will be slow down, still gain, but not much. Fever go away after taking pharacetamol in Dr Cheah clinic, haha... I feel release now! and Papa told me that b'cos Mei Mei want to skip the jab, so she pretend to be fever.
*Mei Mei can say "papapa..."now.. which make papa so happy :) even though we know that she not intend to call him.

Mei Mei can crawl

Mei Mei is 5 mths,2 weeks and 2 days old as per today.
What she can do at this stage:
When I place toys near her, she can crawl over to reach them.
Hand control is developed, she can bring a small object towards herself gently. Still not able to grab at this moment.
360 degree turn, place her nicely on baby cot, after wake up will see her 360 degree turn, facing the other side.

Sweet Memory

Yesterday is sweet memory day for Kaitlyn. She got the opportunity to go to stage to take trophy. Hope this is encouragement to her.

When we arrived the school hall, Kaitlyn has been ask to sit with all the winners from nursery 1. See, her happy face, but after long waiting around 3 hours, when want to go to stage, she's start crying, don't know is because too tired or afraid and refuse to go to stage.

Almost school holiday

Is almost school holiday, yesterday Kaitlyn bring back all her school books and report card. She's doing good in school and I got the answer for what prizes she get, is best pupil awards and also the colouring competition (special awards).
She have been attending the school about 4 mths, I personally think that she've learns a lot from there, she knew a lot of song now, and I'm so proud that she's no longer wearing diapers, even at night, she also can poo poo by using the potty now.
Yes! I think I've make the right choice of sending her to this kindy, teachers are nice, caring and I can see their effort on guiding our childrens.

Every month, there will be a unit topic for what they need to learn, by end of the month, teacher will let them take home a handworks done by the teachers. In month of July, she bring back "Fun with shapes and colours" and September is a "Fun with numbers" and November is "Fun with Alphabets"... which I likes so much because I can use the material to teach her at home.

Traditional costum

Kaitlyn in cheongsum and kimono. The yellow cheongsum bought by peh peh to kaitlyn during her 1 yrs old, and this kimono I borrowed from Irene a few weeks ago. See if I manage to get all the traditional costum (likes sari, baja kebaya, etc), then I can take her pic in difference custom, it should be fun.

Request for a watch

Kaitlyn: I want to bring this upstairs to study.

Papa: No no no, keep it (is time to go to bed)
Kaitlyn: No, I want to learn how to read the time, so that you can buy me a Hello Kitty watch ma..

Oh, I know why Kaitlyn so hardworking, because she told us that her friend, Georgina have a watch, so she want also, and papa told her that if she know how to read the time, then only she can get one.

Prizes Presentation, what can it be?

Kaitlyn brings back some leaflet on Mon from school. Is a graduation celebration and recognition day on this coming Sunday (16 Nov), I'm a little bit curious, as I didn't heard Kaitlyn said she take part on the concert (seems like don't have for Nursery 1 student). By looking in details, she's being invited for prizes presentation, hah?? what can it be, in the leaflet, it was listed quite a number of competition, which I believe she didn't take part of any. I ask her to check it out with teacher, but she told me she forgot, what can it be, I'm so curious what my girl get. Looking forward for this sunday...

Showing attitude

My 5 mths old daughter start showing her preference on the milk and people, she likes to drink mama milk instead of moomoo milk. This make me so stress, afraid that if one day I wean, she's won't take milk anymore...

Little kakak

Our weekend activities recently is to clean our new house, we did it continuously for 5 weekends. We didn't hired any maid, but we have a volunteer kakak.. which is our little Jie Jie. Actually she didn't help much, but making a lot of noise and disturbance, she's scared of the loud sound come out from the vacumn cleaner, always want either me or papa carry her, or else cried and shows her scary face... but yesterday at least she contribute a little bit, by mopping the cabinet and grill. Look how serious she is in this photo.

She's very good in acting, kakak speak malay and so as she.

Meaningful

We visited Amanda's baby last sunday, and I bought her a gift set which have a very meaningful sentence, it says" It doesn't matter I'm small, one day I'll grow up big and tall". I like these sentence, just like giving me hint that not to worry.

Growth Development

I'm very concern about my girls growth development. Jie Jie is already 3 yrs plus, but her weight is only 11.6kg as measure by this morning. About Mei Mei, first 2 -3 mths, she's progressing well, but I observed that the weight is slowing down recently, I'm so worry, as she's taking 6 times milk per day, each feed is 4oz.. is she taking not enough milk?

Why U didn't wake me up

While I'm washing the breast pump this morning, I heard Kaitlyn cried so sadly, after check it up with her, I only know that because we didn't wake her up as I promised her last night. The reason is she go to bed late yesterday and I want her to sleep more. Actually quite convenience to fecth her to school but the problem is that she need to take at least 45 mins to get ready which cause us arrived office late :(

My entertainer

Yesterday night, while the 2 sister lying on the bed, I put Mei Mei on Jie Jie tummy and let Jie Jie become pillow, Mei Mei climb up to Jie Jie chest and I heard Jie Jie said to Mei Mei that "Ah Mei, Jie Jie don't have nen nen, you know" Everyone in the room laugh as this Jie Jie very funny and talk likes an aunty.

Sometimes Kaitlyn also likes to modify people name, last friday, papa told Kaitlyn that he have a colleauge come from USA, and want us to meet him on saturday, papa told us that his name is Geratt, the first response from Kaitlyn is haa.. uncle Carrot.. you said la.. how cheeky she is. She also modify her PD name from Dr Jessica to Dr Bicyle...

New pyjamas for Kaitlyn

Kaitlyn asking me to bought her dress pyjamas a few weeks ago.. I manage to grab 3 pieces for her during my lunch time at Sunshines Square, great ler... all my lunch mate know me well, I always use lunch time to shop for my girls :P

Mei Mei 5 mths old

Kait Yee is 5 months old today.

What she can do:

1. When place an object near her, she can lunges forward to get it.
2. Able to grab a rattle.
3. Recogise people and house. Last 3 weeks, went to Po Po house, cried.
4. Start drinking 4oz milk, between 2-3 hrs.
5. Make noise when everyone is watching TV program, and didn't pay attention to her.
6. Likes people to talk with her.

Potty Train

Ah Mah start train Mei Mei to use potty. The first things Ah Mah will do after Mei Mei wake up is to let her wee wee on the potty, it don't works at the beginning, but for this week, we see the improvement, yes, Mei Mei wee wee on the potty. Hope this works so that we can save some money from buying diapers :P

School uniform

There is a rules for Little Kingdom that all the students must wear uniform, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, is the dress uniform, Tuesday and Thursday is T-shirt and white pants. I like the uniform, is very nice. But sometimes Kaitlyn refuse to wear it (when she don't want to go to school). This week, Ah Kong travel to China again, and we have to fetch Kaitlyn to school before go to work. She's well behave, manage to get ready within half an hour and we praise her because of getting ready earlier than us. I've manage to take her pic in difference uniform, hehe.. are they nice?

So sorry to Jie Jie

Before delivered Mei Mei, I have full attention to Kaitlyn, most of my spare time is teaching her read, sing, write and colouring. Every night before go to bed, she sure want me to read her bed time story, she won't feel bored for the same story, keep requesting me to repeat, sometimes I tell until doze off. I enjoys that moment so much, but now I have to split my time to Mei Mei, and I feel guilty that all these activities has been stopped. Most of my time now is to pumping milk, feeding her, take care of Mei Mei...

Drawing

Many months ago, Kaitlyn likes to draw caterpillar and monster, for caterpillar, she'll draw many circles from big till small, with 2 little eyes and many legs (teached by Ah Mah) and I don't know where she learn about the monster from... look at this pic, it really looks like a monster in the eye of a kid, for me, is a cute little monster!

My bad

Something funny happen last weekend, I was feeding kaitlyn and she refuse to eat and I told her that i'm so upset and want to run away b'cos she refuse to eat, Papa frighten her that monster will come and catch her if she don't eat(which we not suppose to do)... she was very angry that moment, turn to me and tell me that "Mama I run with u.. "
*My bad, I shouldn't said this kind of bad words, which children pick up so fast.

Mei Mei progress

Mei Mei is 4 mths 2 weeks and 5 days old as per today. I can said that she's progressing well, can move forward by using her body and leg but very naughty, 4 oz milk have to split to 2-3 times to finish, If don't want to drink, use all her energy to push our hand away.

Pig Pig Hooray, we got something new today

I have to think of something new and creative each time when I feed Kaitlyn, she's really make me big head whenever come to meal time. The words that we keep repeating is chew.. swallow.. chew..swallow. If she's in bad mood, we can spend up an hours just get her to finish the meal. Who can tell me when it is going to stop, when will be the time she can eat by herself without forcing...
Yesterday, Fong Lay borrow me 2 puncher (snow flake & horse), and I told her sit and wait at her high chair as I'm going to show her something new...
Me: I'll show u something new.. sit still
Kaitlyn: ok..hands behind (putting her hands at her back)
Kaitlyn: Pig Pig Hooray, we got something new today.
What a cute word, she's told me Barney teach her.
I keep feeding her the milk while kakak and papa punch out the cute little paper..and the 5oz milk finish within 10 mins.. thanks GOD!

My Liitle Kingdom

Going to school is fun! This is what I heard from Kaitlyn after 2 mths she attending My Little Kingdom. I still remember, first few weeks, she was so reluctant to go to school, everyday keep asking me tomorrow got school or not, first sentence after wake up is got school or not, if I told her yes, she'll said I don't want to go school, cry and make all the cranky stuff ...But finally she seems settle down now and start enjoying her school life. The games that she likes to play recently is teacher and students, she pretend to be teacher Embi, mama, papa, Ah Kong, Ah Mah & Kakak are all her students . She's able to name most of their friends name from her class, likes Yan Yi, Shi Ya, Hong Liang, Chan Jit Feng, Preston, Celine, Edvan, etc. She even share what had happen in her class with me everyday she come back from school, ya.. is quite fun to hear about all her school stories. She also learns many new song from there, one of our favourite is the Goodbye song.

In the morning, when all the children gather, teacher Embi will ask them to sing Selamat Pagi. Selamat Pagi, Selamat Pagi,
Kepada Cikgu, kepada kawan,
Saya Dah Besar, Saya Dah Besar,
Saya mahu belajar.

Before taking meal, washed their hands. Go back to their seat, put hands behind, when the food is serve, they are ask to sing,

If the children want more foods, they have to raise their hand and said 2nd helping, plss..

When time to go home, they will sing Goodbye song. (I told Kaitlyn, when you sing this song, means mama will come to fecth you home)

Kaitlyn 3 years old birthday

This year Kaitlyn birthday is fall on saturday, and I'm able to make her a birthday party which she wish to have. Last night, I ask her what's her wish, and she told me that she wish - not to skip her lunch, go to school...(I think she likes the school so much now). Haha.. all good things, which is my wishes too, hope this is real and she's not just sweet talk to me.

Kait Yee 4 months old

Mei Mei is 4 mths old today, I'll do the "开腥" for her, many of my friends did it for their child too. I didn't do it for Kaitlyn b'cos I just knew about this believe.
What I need are "龙舌鱼, 鸡腿, Pong 饼 and the marie 饼". Each of it have its own meaning:
龙舌鱼 - to make her speak well and able to debate like a lawyer.. the fishmonger told Ah Mah, if cook 3, then will become more clever (business tactic)
鸡腿 - ？？？
Marie biscut - To prevent saliva from dripping
Pong Pia - for 拜拜 meaning to let her "胖胖"


Hubby said that I'm like living in the old century, but I think he's not right, we should believe it, no harm to try. Haha... very "aunty" me.
During Mei Mei full moon celebration, we also let her bath with flowers (5 difference colours), leaf and the stone. Teach by the confinement lady, each of them also got its own meaning.

At 4 mths old, Mei Mei:

• Likes to sleep on her stomach.
• Able to roll from her back on to her stomach.
• Sucking fingers, not thumb but pointer, tall man and ring man 3 together. Changed from left to right, sometimes sucking chut chut.
• Laugh until kakaka.. when papa tease her.
• Always want Ah Mah to carry.
• Sleep through the night.
• Interested to what we are doing, sound .. etc

Kaitlyn likes Puzzles

I seldom buy toys for Kaitlyn b'cos I think is not worth it. The Fisher Price Toys that she's had now was redeem from Wyeth. But myself and Ah Kong did bought a lot of puzzles to her. The reason is she's love to played it. 1st puzzles that Kaitlyn had is Hippo and Ducky (4-6 pcs). I bought for her during our Taiwan trip last Aug, before her 2 yrs birthday. Now she had about 13 set difference puzzles (up to 48 pcs). She's not so well in fixing the 48 pcs as this is more challenging. But master well in 24 pcs. She've the spirit of never give up, which I'm so proud of, for those more difficult, she'll keep do it again and again until she's master it, this game can make her sit quietly for at least half an hour. Once she solve it, she'll very happy. I can feel the joy of her self accomplishment.
